You can expect the following and more from the title:

And if that’s not enough, Digital Reality have also released a minute long teaser trailer for you to check out. The trailer nor the developer have released any release date information but you can expect that to pop up relatively soon.

The Mojang crew released Minecraft 1.0 RC1, quickly followed by an actual working version, RC2

RC stands for release candidate *thanks for the correction anon1234. Also the choice to go with 1.0 rather than 10.0 seems odd (Being we have 1.9 pre-releases so much lately)

Having thought about it a bit it makes sense I guess, We are in Beta now 1.8 etc.. so this will be FINAL 1.0 (or release 1.0)

I thought I would bring you yet another Minecraft update this weekend.

With the release of Minecraft Beta 1,9 Pre-Release 6 brings ‘The End’ A boss fight followed by 8 mins of very odd credits.

I thought I would go into a bit more detail about the end of the game.

To get to ‘The End’ you need to craft an End Portal (Been in the game since Pre4)

End Portal are naturally occurring structures that are used to travel into The End. It can only be found in strongholds, and it consists of a horizontal frame of 12 Ender Portal Frame blocks, organised into a roughly square shape, five blocks wide, five blocks long. Upon placing an Eye of Ender in every Ender Portal Frame block of a specific portal, the portal activates, creating 9 Ender Portal blocks inside the frame, and allowing the player to access The End.

Once in ‘The End’ You have to defeat an Enderdragon.

This is near impossible to do when not in creative mode. It take so many arrows!

Once the Enderdragon is defeated you see an animation like this;

This is then followed by the credits.

Made from nothing but milk and love.

§2Does it know that we love it? That the universe is kind?

§3Sometimes, through the noise of its thoughts, it hears the universe, yes.

§2But there are times it is sad, in the long dream. It creates worlds that have no summer, and it shivers under a black sun, and it takes its sad creation for reality.

§3To cure it of sorrow would destroy it. The sorrow is part of its own private task. We cannot interfere.

§2Sometimes when they are deep in dreams, I want to tell them, they are building true worlds in reality. Sometimes I want to tell them of their importance to the universe. Sometimes, when they have not made a true connection in a while, I want to help them to speak the word they fear.

§3It reads our thoughts.

§2Sometimes I do not care. Sometimes I wish to tell them, this world you take for truth is merely §f§k§a§b§2 and §f§k§a§b§2, I wish to tell them that they are §f§k§a§b§2 in the §f§k§a§b§2. They see so little of reality, in their long dream.

§2We are the universe. We are everything you think isn’t you. You are looking at us now, through your skin and your eyes. And why does the universe touch your skin, and throw light on you? To see you, player. To know you. And to be known. I shall tell you a story.

§2Sometimes it thought itself human, on the thin crust of a spinning globe of molten rock. The ball of molten rock circled a ball of blazing gas that was three hundred and thirty thousand times more massive than it. They were so far apart that light took eight minutes to cross the gap. The light was information from a star, and it could burn your skin from a hundred and fifty million kilometres away.

§2Sometimes the player dreamed it was a miner, on the surface of a world that was flat, and infinite. The sun was a square of white. The days were short; there was much to do; and death was a temporary inconvenience.

§3Sometimes the player dreamed it was lost in a story.

§2Sometimes the player dreamed it was other things, in other places. Sometimes these dreams were disturbing. Sometimes very beautiful indeed. Sometimes the player woke from one dream into another, then woke from that into a third.

§2The seven billion billion billion atoms of the player’s body were created, long before this game, in the heart of a star. So the player, too, is information from a star. §2and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the sunlight that came through the shuffling leaves of the summer trees

§3and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the light that fell from the crisp night sky of winter, where a fleck of light in the corner of the player’s eye might be a star a million times as massive as the sun, boiling its planets to plasma in order to be visible for a moment to the player, walking home at the far side of the universe, suddenly smelling food, almost at the familiar door, about to dream again

§2and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the zeros and ones, through the electricity of the world, through the scrolling words on a screen at the end of a dream

The guys are preparing for Minecon and sorting lots of bugs out.. Also Jeb released another Pre-Release.. Pre 6

notch: OH NO! I just realized why a bug is there. I’m going to have to work on sunday. :/

notch: Haha, fixed the bug!!! Looks like we’ll do a prerelease today, and the release candidate on Sunday

notch: Please help us test the ender fight in multiplayer as much as possible.

notch: I think we should to a release candidate for Minecraft 1.0 soon. Like tomorrow, or possibly monday. Does @jeb_ agree?

Bugs Etc..

Well as we know the majority of stuff the crew have been working on lately has been bugs.

jeb_: Fixed another special case piston bug… Thankfully I have a test map for pistons to verify I didn’t break anything new =)

jeb_: It was this bug: (Crashes if you flip the lever twice)

jeb_: Thanks to @mollstam we found and fixed an annoying minecart bug Also made furnace minecarts stronger

jeb_: A minor report (“sometimes items can’t be taken”) led me to discover a bug in the netcode… fixing that greatly decreased packet spam =)

jeb_: Got stuck scrolling on reddit… Snapped out of it and thought for a second “Now what was I doing?” followed by “Oh, right, bugs…”

Jeb has also been working on some of the Bed behavior;

jeb_: New bed behavior… Instead of being woken up by monsters, you are not allowed to sleep if monsters are nearby. Once you sleep you’re safe

jeb_: Monsters that are nearby, but on the other side of walls/doors/etc, will still stop you from sleeping… You know, their constant moaning

That will stop surprise skeleton rapists! I never have liked that much I can now ‘sleep safe at night’

He has also been working on some Red-Stone fixes, this all goes over my head to be honest but I thought I would share it in-case anyone else understands it..

jeb_: Haha... Changing redstone connectivity to fix a bug is scary. Going through all basic circuits to verify...

I must say I am getting a little bored of this ‘feature freeze’ It is making my job much harder.

I was hoping there would be another pre-release to keep us busy but sadly now..

I have managed to find a few interesting things though, lets start with some quotes;

A project called ‘Mina Kvarter’ (english: My Blocks) has come up with the idea or letting local kids re-model their local areas in Minecraft and even influence future regeneration projects… Very cool.. Read more here

The Mojang team have also been playing a lot of Virtua tennis and tiring themselves out..

Clearly not quite enough though.. They still have the energy to punk Notch!

haha.. Just kidding, there are a few things to report.

The Mojang team were gearing up for the feature freeze at the start of this week;

Notch also had some crazy Minecraft dreams;

notch: I dreamt I got attacked by a fan, woke up, then dreamt I was working on Minecraft 2. I need a new hobby!

notch: In the dream, Minecraft 2 had cubes of arbitrary sizes, and a nice water shader. Also, it was confusing.

It must be all the lack of Minecraft Dev? I wonder how long this ‘Code Freeze’ will last

If you remember from a few posts back they are also looking into a new office, it seems they may have found one

notch: If we get this office, we’re building a cinema in it. Yep.

notch: Yay, the office won the vote. It’ll take a few months to fix it up, but it’s going to be awesome. We’re going to have a cinema room. XD

That will be very cool.. Imagine a cinema room at your office – I would love it.. I already watch films on my PC at lunchtime

The Big Freeze

It is time! 18-10-2011

Initially I was wondering how long the freeze would last, but it does seem to have help up.. I was really hoping for another ‘leak’ on Thursday. Although it does sound like Notch may continue to work on the boss fight.. I wonder what this will actually be? Any thoughts? Please comment below.

Jeb has actually got around to fixing some bugs though;

notch: So many cool award shows happening right in our crunch month before Minecon, so we can’t go. But we won an award today!

He has also been talking abut the messages you get on the splash screen, I have always loved them.
