However it’s not all doom and gloom as Take Two has some exciting news to do with L.A noir and Civilization V and Mafia 2. Both L.A Noir and Civ 5 are set for a release of this Fall while Mafia 2 remains on track for a August 24^th.

It seems there is still some time to wait until we see the next step in Mr.Paynes life but if the delay ensures a quality title then it can only be a good thing.

Czech studio Vatra Games will the third studio create a Silent Hill title, the relatively unknown studio is built of industry veterans and new talent and certainly has some pedigree in the shape of Matthew Seymour, formerly of Take-Two Interactive and Microsoft Game Studios.

In terms of story and content it is rumoured that this new Silent Hill will be a reimagining of Silent Hill 2, this could be following the lead that Shattered Memories left back on the Wii which was met with decent success both in sales and reviews.

No announce has been given as of yet but be sure to keep an eye on Konami at E3 to see how Vatra Games handles Silent Hill.

Hickey made the claims via a note and followed it up with the following statement

“There is building suspension for a pre-E3 GTA V announcement, although we expect nothing from Rockstar at this year’s official E3 event,” he also added “We think the next iteration of GTA for console can significantly outsell its predecessor, reflecting on the sales acceleration of the prior cycle GTA console iterations, an accelerating core gamer installed base, and the most talented / motivated development team in the world, in our view,”

As expected Take Two and Rockstar have been tight lipped when it comes to the subject of the next GTA and there fondness to confuse the press and try and get them off their tracks hasn’t gone unnoticed, for example back in September 2009 Take Two president Strauss Zenick gave a utterly confusing comment on the subject of announcements saying the following

“We’re not going to announce it. We’re not going to announce when we’re going to announce it. And we’re not going to announce the strategy about announcing it or about when we’re going to announce it either, or about the announcement strategy surrounding the announcement of the strategy.”

The only positive news out of Rockstar on the subject of the next GTA came in the form of Rockstar co-president Dan Houser claiming they were still yet to think of main characters and a main setting for the game before they went on to do anything.

All eyes are set towards Los Angeles Convention center on June15th to 17^th for this years E3

Take-Two CEO Ben Feder has confirmed the continuing support for Borderlands will go on for the time being. Feder has been quoted saying Borderlands has continued to build upon its success within the market.

With this success comes more DLC, as of yet Feder has said two more pieces of DLC will be on the way and ideas for this DLC includes a pot luck pack which will contain a number of small things that would retail for under $10.

The announcement came today by Take Two who stated Red Dead would be released in May18th in North America and May21st in Europe.

The reason for the delay seems to stem from a financial point as Take Two CEO Ben Feder shed some light on the delay and claimed the delay was to shift the game into third quarter (financial year) as he believes it would be the optimal time frame for what is being hyped up to be the next step in next generation of sand box gaming.

Red Dead Redemption is the follow up to the 2004 title Red Dead Revolver which was met with a mixed reception but fans and critics alike.
