Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Review (360/PS3)
1 CommentsPosted by TomM on November 17, 2011 under PS3, Xbox 360
At this point in time, you’d think that a series going in to its eighth iteration would have lost a large sum of its fan-base, seeing as it has become all but the Friday the 13th of videogames, but in the case of Call of Duty it just isn’t the case. Creating more and more convoluted reasons to shoot Russians is akin to the bizarre ways in which the antagonist Jason is brought back to life ever... more. -
Battlefield 3 Review (360/PS3)
1 CommentsPosted by TomM on November 10, 2011 under PS3, Xbox 360
2011 has been a year of gaming comebacks and heavy hitters and while there are plenty more to come, the FPS genre sees its biggest war this year with Battlefield dropping the Bad Company for this instalment and facing off against the gaming avalanche that is Call of Duty. Considering DICE’s pedigree it was almost a certainty that Battlefield 3 would be a mega-success, and it is, but it definitel... more. -
Tropico 4 Review (Xbox 360)

Management sims have a certain stigmata about them when people consider them on consoles; 'It'll play better on PC', 'you need a mouse' or 'you need a keyboard' to name a few. For an awful lot of games in the genre, this is probably quite accurate. However, a few do break the trend and play brilliantly, namely 'Halo Wars' and 'Tropico 3', and now, after various delays 'Tropico 4' has found its way... more. -

Disney Universe (DU henceforth) is a new IP from Disney Interactive Studios that has just hit our consoles. With over 40 playable characters and 54 playable levels, are we once again going to be immersed in the magic that has kept us entertained for the last fifty years? The universe of Disney is in trouble. After creating a perfect computer simulation for its inhabitants so that they could exp... more. -
Uncharted 3 Review (PS3)
1 CommentsPosted by Sean on November 4, 2011 under PS3
For a good long while now there have been whispers of a movie based on Naughty Dog’s franchise Uncharted. Fans have long discussed their casting choices at great length and talked about what they would want from an Uncharted film. The question is why would we need a film adoption when Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception exists? The premise of Uncharted 3 remains in the same vein as the previous ins... more. -
Zombie Apocalypse : Never Die Alone Review (Xbox 360)

Zombie Apocalypse : Never Die Alone is the sequel to the 2009 hit Zombie Apocalypse. In essence, it is a multi-directional isometric shooter set in the present day featuring different game modes, local and online multiplayer and a whole lot of zombie killing. Fans of the original ZA will know that the premise of the game is simple. The end of the world is nigh, zombies are everywhere (and I mea... more. -
Deus Ex Human Revolution: The Missing Link Review (360/PS3)

'The Missing Link' (TML henceforth) is the first, and as of yet only announced DLC for the hit Deus Ex Human Revolution. TML is neither a prequel, nor a sequel, but takes place during the main campaign of the game. Confused? Let me elaborate. To avoid spoiling the original game, I'm going to be vague here. Remember the part with the bomb? Followed shortly by a ship? Then when you get off the sh... more. -
Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension Review (DS)

Phineas and Ferb is a popular Disney cartoon about two brothers who spend their seemingly infinite summer holiday creating impossible machines and often saving the world all in the name of fun. The duo have already had multiple games to their name already but the one we're focusing on today is “Phineas and Ferb across the 2nd Dimension”, a game based on the TV movie of the same name. The game ... more. -
Sims 3: Pets Review (Xbox 360)

My first impression of the newest instalment to The Sims franchise was one of scepticism. There was one question rattling around in my brain: 'Is this an expansion or a stand-alone game?'. I even went to the lengths of checking on internet, but, sure enough, I could play without the original. This wasn't quite enough to assuage my worries, however, as I would soon discover. Upon loading the gam... more. -
Batman: Arkham City Review (360/PS3)

When Rocksteady released Batman: Arkham Asylum, it did so to critical acclaim and not only was it very successful, it broke the horrible trend of bad superhero games. Well sort of. Arkham Asylum delved into a darker, more disturbing and brutal side of the Batman mythos, pitting the Bat against some of the more violent and psychotic super-villains in the universe. Batman: Arkham City had to be more... more. -
Dancestar Party Review (PS3)

I will admit right here, right now, that the only thing I find more terrifying than being selected to sing "Angels" at a low lit, local pub having it's karaoke night, is having a letter through the door telling me I've been chosen to participate in a televised dancing contest. I consider myself to have about as much dancing ability as a Dalek. A worm could take me in a line dancing contest. So whe... more. -
Dark Souls Review (Xbox 360)

Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to the Playstation hit, Demon Souls. I'll be honest here, you've probably read a review already. Or heard the hype about the difficulty. Well, I decided I didn't want to push out a fast review, I wanted to play this for a month, rather than the usual 'two day review time' that reviewers allocate. Let me just say, I'm glad I did. You start out alone in a pri... more. -
Bejeweled 3 Review (Xbox 360)

After nearly a year on the PC, Bejeweled 3 has made its way onto Xbox Live Arcade. PopCap’s puzzle piece has always carried a simple yet addictive nature, but does Bejeweled 3 XBLA stay true to the series? The basic rules of Bejeweled 3 are simple: The player is gifted a grid and tasked with matching up three or more of the same coloured jewels in order to eliminate them from the grid of play... more. -
Worms: Ultimate Mayhem Review (360/PS3)

Back in 1995 a baby was born. The baby was the result of a partnership between Andy Davidson and a fairly small developer called Team 17. No-one at the time quite realised the importance of that birth. The baby, was called Worms. Since 1995 we have had numerous sequels to the original, all the way up to Worms 4. They've appeared on multiple consoles from the Amiga to the PC, the Xbox 360 to ... more. -
Dungeon Defenders Review (360/PS3)

It's cute. It's colourful. It will lure you into thinking that you're playing an innocent, friendly take on 'Tower Defence', and then it'll ruin you. Dungeon Defenders is a winning combination of comforting and punishing the senses. It takes 'Tower Defence' gameplay and sprinkles it with action-RPG elements, leaving us a game with those rare and precious qualities of that are both genuinely enjoya... more. -
Rock Of Ages Review (Xbox 360)
1 CommentsPosted by TomM on October 24, 2011 under Xbox 360
Rock of Ages is a quirky little title by Ace Team and published under the masters of weird, Atlus who are responsible for the recent cult hit Katherine. There are no psycho-sexual themes or sheep men here though, and it’s a simple little combination of strategy, forward thinking and a basic understanding of ball control. Rock of Ages follows the Ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus and his giant bo... more.
