Through the clenched teeth of the possibly furious spokespeople, depending on the existence of the game, we have not heard any news. Don’t get your hopes up but there is a chance that the game could be announced at the Spike VGA’s, who knows?

A job advertisement for Epic Games was spotted at the beginning of the month about the development of a new IP, however nothing else is known so far.

For the most part the achievement seem to be a nice mixture of the first two titles of the franchise – including the returning Seriously achievement, but this time you don’t have to worry about killing 10,000 or even 100,000 – you simply need to reach level 100 in multiplayer.

Our personal favourite achievement is the ‘Welcome to the Big Leagues’ achievement – which is more of a mock achievement, as it awards you with zero gamerscore and is earned through playing your first social multiplayer match.

Mentioned in the video was the fact that Gears 3 is the longest campaign for a game Epic has ever produced, spanning several largely different areas.

The game releases September 20 and Cliff Bleszinksi has been making sure we know it’s the end, for this team at least.

According to The Los Angeles Times, New Line and Warner Bros. Pictures have stopped development on the project and are scaling back the film’s story and budget.

A source claims “the studio has now cut the budget, going from a film that would have cost more than $100 million to one that will cost a good chunk less than that. It’s also reined in the story, turning it into a more simple, straight-ahead invasion story instead of a sprawling epic.”

With the script by Chris Morgan (“Wanted”) now out, a new writer is being sought. With the resulting delay, director Len Wiseman (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “Underworld”) will instead focus on the post-apocalyptic mystery “Nocturne” at 20th Century Fox.

After the announcement that the highly anticipated God of War 3 will not end on a cliffhanger, many fans thought that this could be due to the story coming to a close, however, this is not the case. Steve Caterson, representing the studio, said “Well, God of War III is the end of the trilogy,” he then continued to say “We didn’t leave you on a cliffhanger but I think it’s not the end of the franchise. I’m looking forward to do something different if we can.”

It’s probably not worth hoping for a direct sequel, however there could be a few spin-offs and sub stories in the distant future.

Until then you’ve got God of War 3, released on March 16th in the US and March 19th in Europe.

As you may have read, God of War III is set to take up a mammoth 35GB from it’s Blu-Ray disc, fortunately this is possible die to complex dual layer discs. This however led many fans to believe that it would follow suit of the Playstation’s previous high capacity game, Metal Gear Solid, and require players to install large amounts of the game to the Hard Drive.

Fortunately, this is not the case. Players will be able to play through the game from start to finish in ful 60FPS glory without making a single install! This is a big achievement for the Playstation as slow read speeds make things like this big achievements for the console and the Blu-Ray format.

With a single layer Blu-Ray disc is maxed out at 25GB and a dual layer is 50GB, God of War 3 shows how little that really is with the massive increase in graphical brilliance and gameplay complexity of recent years and of years to come.

If games are going to carry on growing this quickly, it seems like developers already need to get working on a triple layer disc. However, please bear in mind that this game is an exception and clearly a demonstration of how big games can be, it will be a while until Blu-Ray discs are too small for most games.

Obviously, this “kick ass news” was the announcement that Gears of War characters, Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago, would be appearing in Lost Planet 2. After this, Bleszinski then tweeted “Yes, that’s the news. I said “kick ass” which I think it is. [But] Keep your eyes open for “megaton face melting news.”

Consequently this is causing fans to believe a Gears of War 3 announcement may be just around the corner. Only time will tell…

Kratos first made his way on to the Playstation 3 back in November with the God of War Collection, containing both God of War 1 and 2 from the Playstation but in 720p goodness alongside a God of War 3 playable demo. The price of this package will now be dropping to $29.99 in the US.

The full version of God of War 3 however will come in two editions, standard and “Ultimate Edition”. The Ultimate Edition will contain…
