Microsoft have now announced that their efforts to make Xbox 360 the complete “entertainment” package has paid off. According to a blog post by corporate vice president of corporate communications Frank Shaw, an impressive 40 percent of all Xbox activity is spent not gaming.

Even more impressively, the top non-game use for the console appears to be the video services, with the average Xbox 360 user ploughing through 30 hours of “video consumption” per month.

In addition to Sid Meier’s Civilization V, Firaxis Games is also currently developing a Civ game for Facebook entitled Electronic Theatre ImageSid Meier’s Civilization Network. With Sid Meier leading design, Civilization Network will offer yet another option for world domination to both the casual gamer and the biggest fans of the series. It’s another way to access the famously addictive world of Civilization – or another way to just waste time while on Facebook.

The news was brought to surface today on the company’s Facebook page. The port comes complete with a revamped battle menu containing small images for Attack, Run, etc. which will apparently make the touch controls all the more intuitive.

A few screens were unveiled along with the announcement, although no release date or price have been set for the games.

Eric Lempel, the director of Playstation Network claims “This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are looking forward to adding new features enhancing the experience in future updates.”

Additional highlights from update 3.10 include:

• The Photo category on the XMB has been revamped to make it easier to see more of your photos stored on the PS3.
• The PSN Friends List has been modified based on feedback we received after update 3.00. Additionally, you can now choose a color for your PSN ID on the XMB.
