“Two or three weeks from now the first patch will happen and that’s going to make big corrections to some of the things that are bothering people the most,”

“We’re going to be doing this constantly, with our thumbs in the middle of the community trying to get people to tell us what they think, and then we’ll be acting on it for the rest of the season.”

“That’s a commitment we’re definitely making. It would be nice if people came and talked to us about the things that are bothering them, because we are going to be listening.”

He explained that another thing they will be looking at will be the ability to control the goalkeeper while the A.I controls the outfield during online play, on this topic he said “People seem to be exploiting this, If they’re not very good at defending they can use this to get an unfair advantage.”

The update will be on it’s way to you in two or three weeks.

The success of the beta was proven when it entered the record books as the most preordered Xbox 360 title ever. When you think that the game isn’t even released for 4 months, this record is really impressive. Participants of the Beta can also find a downloadable wallpaper and poster in their email inboxes.

If this rumour does go ahead, we can see future games following in the footsteps of Battlefield Heroes and League of Legends.

In France alone, the PS3 topped the sales charts with 822,000 consoles sold in 2010, against 550,000 Xbox 360, according to figures from the independent Gfk. Interestingly this brings the total of PS3′s to 3 million in French homes, against 2.2 million Xbox 360 consoles.

It seems that Kinect did give Microsoft’s console a sales boost in the region, with 300,00 units being shifted, 50% of which were part of a bundle (new customers).

“We sold roughly 50% of cameras and 50% of bundles in France and this is very positive,” said Xbox France rep David Dufour.

Quite surprisingly it’s when it comes to game sales in all of Europe combined that the PS3 really shines, having shifted 8 million units compared to the Xbox 360′s 4.7 million, that’s quite a difference. It seems this trend is majorly seen only within France itself, compared to the remainder of Europe – but we still can’t pin point the catalyst that has caused so many French citizens to prioritise PS3 in 2010.

“Of all the ‘big’ multiplatform games, the PS3 is preferred to the Xbox 360. For one game, our sales are 1.5 to 2 times larger than the competition,” said Richard Brunois of Sony. “In addition,  PS3 players bought an average of 2.8 games in 2010, against the 2 of Xbox 360 players.”

Microsoft have finally announced the details of this shiny new update with the big news being improved voice-chat quality!

The full list is as follows:

• Improved voice quality — the audio codec is being updated to improve Xbox LIVE Party chat audio quality. So grab your friends and jump into a multiplayer game, catch a big sports event, watch a movie or do all three.
• Improved experience for changing your Gamertag — choosing a new Gamertag? If the Gamertag you’re looking for is already taken, your Avatar will spin a wheel and we will provide five other Gamertag suggestions at a time for you to choose from.
• Streamlined in-dashboard virtual keyboard — we’ve taken the existing QWERTY keyboard in-dash and made it easier to use for scenarios that involve repeated text entry, for example when signing up for LIVE within the dashboard.
• Improved Xbox LIVE Marketplace UI and browse experience — the Games Marketplace has been re-organized to provide streamlined access to the games and content you want, reducing the number of steps it takes to get to a download.
• Avatar changes — we’ve made your Avatars slightly more proportional so you can better play Kinect games
• Easier to get on a wireless network — trying to connect to a wireless network? With the next update, you’ll see a list of all the wireless networks within range when you go into network settings. From there, you’ll be able to select a new network or further configure the network you’re connected to.
• Ability to sign-out other controllers in the sign-in UI — we’re adding the ability to sign-out profiles on other controllers in the sign-in UI within the Guide. This is especially useful when playing games like Rock Band.
• New browse experience for 100% completed games — you spent a lot of time and effort earning those Achievements, so instead of only being able to view your first dozen completed games, we’re giving you a new and better way to browse all of them.

• The new Xbox will be released later this week in North America at a price of $299. The console will then hit Europe on July 16th with a retail price of £199.
• The console features a built in 250GB HDD (although it can be removed with ease), built in WiFi supporting 802.11b/g/n.
• The console is much smaller than the current 360, in fact it can fit inside the shell of one as demonstrated at E3. However, it is most noticeably shorter.
• The console will run much quieter than previous 360 models – “whisper quiet”.
• The rear of the console features 3 USB 2.0 ports, an AUX port, an Ethernet Port, Standard A/V and HDMI, TOS link and Kensington lock support. The Power input is also similar to that of the Slim PS2 rather than the current large, custom power input.
• Currently, the only colour is glossy black.

This time, recent images have shown that the banner over the top of Xbox 360 games will undergo a small change. The Xbox 360 isn’t the only console this gen to do this, the Playstation 3 also changed it’s banner recently moving from the left hand side reading “Playstation 3″ to the top reading “PS3″. However, the Xbox change seems a lot less noticeable.

Nobody is quite sure why this change has happened, perhaps it’s part of the rumoured re-brand coming after E3, perhaps it’s just simple change to keep things looking fresh. Regardless, it doesn’t matter that much anyway, as long as the games remain great.

The source reported this through EDGE Online this morning along with other rumours of a NATAL and Arcade console bundle retailing at $299. These prices convert to £103 and £207 respectively in the UK. Of course, these prices show that the new device will cost much more than the previously rumoured £50.

The source also stated that Project NATAL is penclled in for a worldwide release on October 26th although this could change by a few weeks either way. Finally, the bundle is set to be re-named at E3 2010 and released under that name rather than the current NATAL which has been used since it’s announcement, however, there are no rumours to what this name might be.

Obviously, these are all rumours but there’s only a few weeks until E3 when we’ll most probably find out how much truth they hold.
