The trailer includes the traditional game styles, but also details the new Predator technology used in the game to make it a more realistic experience. New features include a 40 man Royal Rumble, new Create A Wrestler sets, and something fans have been clambering for years, the Create An Arena mode. Finally, you can have a grapple in surroundings you feel comfortable in, simply because you decorated it so beautifully.

Also there’s a glimpse of the downloadable wrestlers you’ll be able to add to your rosters over the coming months including Randy Savage, Mick Foley, Vader, Batista and Brock Lesnar. No sign of Chris Jericho though…HMMMM.

I’ve never heard of it.

According to GameMill Entertainment:

That is what the official blurb from the email we received said about the game and honestly the game sounds quite fun.

You take control of three characters; Phineas, Ferb and Perry. Each character has a different attack style, for example, Phineas uses a baseball gun, Ferb uses a gun that shoots electricity and Perry prefers hand-to-hand combat and his trusty grapple hook. Your combat choices are rather lacking, you can use a normal attack with the A button which can be charged, the B button is used for jumping while the Y button is reserved for special attacks such as a spread shot for Phineas’ baseball gun. Using the touch screen you can swap between the three characters quickly although there is rarely any need. Specific characters are used for certain “switches”, for example, Ferb can stun robots while Agent P can wall jump to higher areas but apart from this however, the character you use doesn’t matter. Character control is simple and responsive however combat is repetitive. Enemies, bar the Ferb-specfic robots or the shielded robot, require no skill to defeat and eventually have you mashing the A button in an effort to finish it quickly. The game itself is split into five Mario-like worlds each with multiple levels. Each level is pretty short and ridiculously easy, altogether the game only lasts a few hours.

The only reason to go back to the levels and play through the game again is the three hidden medals scattered through-out each level and the level specific “Monogram” mission; the medals aren’t hidden very well and it takes very little skill to find them. The “Monogram” missions are, as I mentioned, le vel specific and they revolve around completing certain goals such as destroying all of the crates in the level or defeating a small amount of enemies with a certain character. These ‘Monogram’ missions unlock costumes which you can buy in the in-game shop with batteries collected in game. Batteries are easy to come by and you can usually pick up 100 to 200 batteries in a level. The levels are usually platforming-based however, the game occasionally switches it up with different elements such as an R-Type style shoot ‘em up in Agent P’s car. Occasional boss battles are also fun at first but because of predictable enemy patterns and the simple difficulty level they get repetitive quickly.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 will hit Muggle stores November 18 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and PC.

The game is planned for release in November 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PSP, DS, Wii, 3DS and Vita.

Metallic Pink is “an eye-catching shade of pink with a luminous modern sheen” says Nintendo. “For kids eager to head back to school in style or busy adults with an appetite for on-the-go entertainment, this new colour option rolls fun and fashion into one irresistible package,”

The new colour will be available September 18 at the regular retail price (around $170)

Nintendo applied for a game-related patent in February 2010 and it was published last week. The title of said patent was “Massively Single-Player Online Game” and is described as “A method and apparatus that allows a player to play a massively single-player online game without directly interacting with other players, while affecting and being affected by other players playing the online game”‘

A high degree of interactivity in real time in RPGs is attractive to many players, however, some players may not want social interaction while nevertheless enjoying the benefit of a very dynamic virtual world. For example, it would be beneficial to provide a method and a system that allows a single player to play a game without the player having to interact with other players playing the game at the same time. However, it would be desirable if the player’s avatar’s actions still affect the status of the game and the status of other avatars, like in the conventional multiplayer games, even though the game being played is a single-player game from the perspective of each participant of the game.

The patent also mentions a few things to note especially the mention of “home video game systems such as the Nintendo Wii 3D video game system, a Nintendo DS or other 3D capable interactive computer graphics display systems”. This could detail plans of a 3D-compatible Nintendo Wii although as many others have pointed out this may just be referring to the graphics. It’s also pretty unlikely for a standalone 3D-Wii to be released so it could be referring to the then unnamed Wii-U.

Personally what I’m imagining is a game similar to Animal Crossing where a player can build something and have it appear the online world, or buy something and have it run out of stock for everyone. I’ll let you think of your own possibilities, just keep in mind that it could be one of the many Nintendo patents that are left untouched.

Let me reiterate, Defiance is for DS and, as far as n-Space have announced, it won’t be appearing on the 3DS. The developers answered queries on the Facebook announcement comments saying:

“You guys all need to understand that we make the games we are hired to make. It is not our call to decide which platforms to support. Obviously we are big 3DS fans and supporters as we have 3 titles in development. If it were as simple as us choosing what products and platforms to develop for I would get a lot more sleep.”

Currently there is no word of a release date, but I’m sure as November draws closer more information will be released.
