SEGA Announces Yakuza 4 Will Come West Spring 2011

In a move that will be sure to thrill Yakuza fans outside of Japan, SEGA are pleased to announce that they will indeed be releasing Yakuza 4 in Spring 2011 on Yakuza’s traditional home, the PlayStation 3.

Four is a very powerful number in this particular installment as not only will you experience the gritty atmosphere of Kiryu Kazuma’s experiences, three other characters will also be available to play. Each of them with their own engaging backstory and a gripping interwoven plot.

In the Gears of War series, humanity has been fighting a desperate but losing battle. Everytime they think they get a leg up in their fight against the locusts things get worse. In Gears of War 2, Marcus Fenix and the rest of the COG were fighting to defend the last human city. They won the fight but, according to leaked story from a Russian gaming magazine, things have gotten really really worse for Gears of War 3.

One of the rumors for Gears of War 3 was that water would definitely be involved and that rumor is correct but they potentially got the scale wrong. According to the translation of Russian gaming mag, after the Locust’s Hollow was flooded at the end of Gears of War 2, 18 months have passed and humanity has scattered into tribes fighting for survival. No more civilization, no more government, no more military. Marcus Fenix, Dom, and the others from their crew are living on the aircraft carrier ‘Ravens Nest’ and sailing through the seas while trying to fight off others to protect what precious little they need to survive.

Gears of War 3 is scheduled to be released April 5, 2011 for the Xbox 360.

Square Enix have just unveiled brand new assets for Front Mission Evolved for your viewing pleasure – enclosed were a collection of art, screenshots and packshots (game cover).

Front Mission Evolved is set in the year 2171, 50 years after the events of Front Mission 5: Scars of the War. The human race has started a massive push for space exploration through orbital elevators. However, tension rises when one of the elevators being built in USN North America is destroyed by unknown forces. Engineer Dylan Ramsey finds himself involved in a new war brewing between the OCU and the USN.

Serebii.net has the first purported images from the recently announced Pokemon White/Black. Overall it appears to have more of a 3/4 view than over the top. It looks quite nice, definitely an improvement in my eyes. It also appears to have the same starters as Silver/Gold, but that could change. It also appears to have the shops in the Pokecenter, which is a huge improvement, and makes complete sense. Do note these are scans from a Japanese magazine, so the quality isn’t great, but you’ll get the overall picture.

The 3D in this game is far more advance then previous games
It appears that CoroCoro isn’t reveallig much information in this issue, but rather showing the graphical change between the generations

Final Fantasy 1 & 2 Coming to iPhone / iPod Touch (Screenshots)

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy I and II will be available for the iPhone /iPod Touch later this year.

The news was brought to surface today on the company’s Facebook page. The port comes complete with a revamped battle menu containing small images for Attack, Run, etc. which will apparently make the touch controls all the more intuitive.

A few screens were unveiled along with the announcement, although no release date or price have been set for the games.

Sony have released a fresh batch of anticipation – in screenshot form – for the heavily anticipated God of War III. Packed with weapons, swords, baddies & environmental ore – what else could possibly make the wait until March any more agonizing?

God of War III is scheduled for release in March on the Playstation 3 system.

Red Hot Redemption Scheduled to Launch in April

Rockstar San Diago has announced that their western, Red Dead Redemption, has been scheduled saddle up for release in April of 2010 – you will get the chance you saddle up in your preferred console, wether it be Xbox 360 or PS3.

To begin building hype for the game’s arrival, Rockstar also announced that a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption will premiere December 1. The western shooter is billed as a follow-up to Revolver, Redemption takes place many years after the conclusion of the original, nearer to the turn of the century. At the center of the choas is John Marston, a former outlaw caught up in the uncertain times created by the industrial age on the American frontier.

EA and Black Box’s Skate franchise first launched on our consoles back in 2007 and has been strutting its stuff ever since without yet falling into the trap of spiraling downhill after the 3rd of 4th installment. Three iterations in and one question stands: are they running out of new ideas yet?

It doesn’t seem so, as Skate 3 now takes the focus away from doing things individually and shifts it to team play. We don’t know what to expect from this title, but for now these screenshots and first look video will satisfy the curiosity.
