  • Lume Review (PC/Steam) 0 CommentsPosted by on June 6, 2011 under PC
Lume is distinctivly pretty. There's no doubting it, and it isn't up for subjective debate: it simply is. The game itself isn't going to consistently feed you top shelf entertainment, but this is an exceedingly rare case of asset fidelity overcoming gameplay. You play as Lumi. She looks like your childhood friend from the bottom of the street, providing your friend was made out of cardboard. Lu... more.
  • Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC Review (PC) 0 CommentsPosted by on September 21, 2010 under PC, Xbox 360
Unless I am mistaken, Lair of the Shadow Broker has been claimed to be the first in a series of downloadable content which aims to bridge the gap between sci-fi adventure Mass Effect 2 and its still-in-development sequel, Mass Effect 3. It doesn't become clear as to how this works as a bridge between the two entities until the very end, but it does a decent job of keeping the player entertained wh... more.
  • Just Cause 2 Easter Egg – Island From LOST? 0 CommentsPosted by on March 27, 2010 under PC, PS3, Video, Xbox 360
With the recent release of manic sandbox game Just Cause 2, there has been a surge of user videos uploaded to various sites showcasing its insanity. One in particular, however, caught my eye. Yes, that is the entire island from mega-hit tv show Lost (hatch included, for any of you Lost fans out there). It appears that when approaching the island the plane, quite mysteriously, bursts into flames. ... more.
  • Death of Robert Culp 0 CommentsPosted by on under Industry
Robert Culp, known for his work as uber-villain Dr. Wallace Breen (Half Life 2) to the world of gaming and for his vast number of years in television, has sadly died. I won't divulge the details as to how and when this happened, as it isn't really important. Memorials are appearing far and wide across the vastness of the web. Most fittingly, Valve posted their own memorial on their Steam service.... more.
  • Team Behind Machinarium Hard at Work on Feature Length 0 CommentsPosted by on March 20, 2010 under Industry
The team behind one of the best point-and-click adventure games ever made recently announced their involvement in puppet-live action crossover, "Kooky´s Return" (Kuky se vrací in its native Czech). Official press release: "Kooky´s Return (Kuky se vrací) is a combined puppet and live action feature based on a child’s fantasy. A seven year old boy whose teddy bear Kooky has been thrown away ... more.
  • Machinarium Review (PC) 0 CommentsPosted by on March 9, 2010 under PC
Congratulations, Amanita Design, you have successfully created a point-and-click adventure game that essentially summarizes the early/mid-90's feel of PC games, whilst superimposing a fresh coat of paint and a dark, super stylistic edge. Machinarium really is the tongue twister of the video game world: simple at first glance, but with exceeding levels of difficulty that bring you to that single so... more.
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum Review (PC) 0 CommentsPosted by on January 9, 2010 under PC
When Batman: Arkham Asylum was first announced way back by relatively unknown developer Rocksteady Studios, I was split in two over it. Seeing as I am a huge lover of Batman media, one part of me couldn't wait. On the other hand, superhero media in general (not including the original comic books) has not garnered itself the best of reputations over the years. When I finally got my hands on the PC ... more.
  • Final Fantasy XIII Given European/North American Release Date 0 CommentsPosted by on November 15, 2009 under PS3, Xbox 360
Rejoice, fellow Final Fantasy fans, as Final Fantasy XIII has been given an OFFICIAL European/North American release date: 9 March 2010. Now let us hope that it isn't delayed. Having followed the Final Fantasy series pretty much my entire life, I really cannot wait for this game. I don't usually look out for graphics in a role-playing game, but it really does look beautiful, and I'm sure it will... more.
  • Left 4 Dead 2 – First Impressions (Demo) 0 CommentsPosted by on November 7, 2009 under PC, PS3, Xbox 360
The demo for surprise sequel Left 4 Dead 2 was recently released and I spent about two hours of my gaming life today enjoying it (a rare occurrence these days, if I do say so myself). The game features a hefty amount of pseudo-zombies (real zombies do not run) for you to dismember and smack with the underbelly of a frying pan for pure amusement while the story appears to be there just to give rea... more.
  • DSi LL/XL Headed For Europe and America 2010 0 CommentsPosted by on October 31, 2009 under Uncategorized
As many of you will already know, Nintendo recently announced that they will be releasing yet another incarnation of their cashcow handheld device, the Nintendo DS, renaming it the DSi LL. It will be available exclusively in Japan for the remainder of 2009 (launching the 21st of November, to be precise) but fear not, as it will be released to European and American territories during the first qua... more.
