  • What Happened to Great Horror Games? 10 CommentsPosted by on January 29, 2012 under PS3, PSP, Wii, Wii U, XBLA, Xbox 360
There’s something missing from this generation and it’s bothering me. As technology gets better and the limits of consoles continue to be pushed, there’s a genre that continues to be overlooked, which is full of potential. I am of course talking about the horror genre. This generation has seen a distinct lack of horror titles on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The foundation for unique horror was l... more.
  • The Life and Death of the Light Gun 0 CommentsPosted by on under Editorials, Industry, PC, Platforms, PS2, PS3, Wii, XBLA, Xbox 360
The light gun is something I miss quite dearly. Its time has come and gone and in its place we now have the likes of Playstation Move, Wii Motes and Kinect. But all of these lack a certain something. It’s hard to put my finger on it, but the modern day equivalents to the light gun seem to be missing the charm and feel of a true light gun. Of course, light guns showed their true worth in the days... more.
  • Resident Evil Identity Crisis? 0 CommentsPosted by on January 28, 2012 under 3DS, Editorials, Industry, Platforms, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360
The last few days have seen the arrival of the first official Resident Evil 6 trailer. Normally anything Resident Evil related (bar the horrific films) gets my attention and starts anticipation rolling, however this time around I felt a little more grounded. Iv watched the trailer around ten times now and I still cant conjure the same level of excitement or interest I once could. It could be down ... more.
  • Uncharted 3 Review (PS3) 1 CommentsPosted by on November 4, 2011 under PS3
For a good long while now there have been whispers of a movie based on Naughty Dog’s franchise Uncharted. Fans have long discussed their casting choices at great length and talked about what they would want from an Uncharted film. The question is why would we need a film adoption when Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception exists? The premise of Uncharted 3 remains in the same vein as the previous ins... more.
  • Gearbox’s Borderlands 2 Heart Warming Fan Tribute 0 CommentsPosted by on under PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Gearbox is honouring a fan in a very unique way in their new follow up to Borderlands. Destructoid reported that a reader of theirs shared a story of his late friend and his fondness of Borderlands. The fan sent an e-mail to Gearbox software requesting fan favourite ‘’Claptap’’ to read a short eulogy. Gearbox went one further and promised to add Michael John Mamaril into the game as a N... more.
  • 2K To End NBA 2K11 Online Support This Month 0 CommentsPosted by on November 3, 2011 under PS3, Xbox 360
2K Games are in motion to cut support for one of their key sports titles from last year. The plan to discontinue online support for NBA 2k11, in the middle of this month, will effect more than just online play. The likes of online ranked and standard matches will no longer work, along with this the fan favourite ‘’My Crew’’ will also cease to be.  ‘’My Crew’’ players take their... more.
  • Bejeweled 3 Review (Xbox 360) 0 CommentsPosted by on October 27, 2011 under Xbox 360
After nearly a year on the PC, Bejeweled 3 has made its way onto Xbox Live Arcade. PopCap’s puzzle piece has always carried a simple yet addictive nature, but does Bejeweled 3 XBLA stay true to the series? The basic rules of Bejeweled 3 are simple: The player is gifted a grid and tasked with matching up three or more of the same coloured jewels in order to eliminate them from the grid of play... more.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Review (360/PS3) 0 CommentsPosted by on October 18, 2011 under PS3, Xbox 360
Warhammer 40000’s Space Marines have become grandfathers of the genre. Slowly, they have become what can only been seen as a clichéd game hero. Their iconic look has inspired plenty of games, both past and present, and so to has the world which they inhabit. Can the Grandfathers stake a claim in the modern third-person shooter market? Or do they pale in comparison to the young whipper-snappers ... more.

  • Resistance 3 Review (PS3) 0 CommentsPosted by on September 17, 2011 under PS3
Resistance as a franchise has always done things well but has never truly hit the heights of other franchises on the market. In an extremely competitive market you’d be forgiven for writing off Resistance 3 after its mediocre predecessor however you’d be wrong to do so. Picking up after the events of Resistance 2, the player finds them self  in the shoes of family man Joe Capelli. The worl... more.
  • Bodycount Review (360/PS3) 0 CommentsPosted by on September 12, 2011 under PS3, Xbox 360
Bodycount isn’t trying to convey an epic story filled with twists and turns. Instead Bodycount commands you to grab a gun and cause some chaos however this isn’t as fun as it sounds. Bodycount seems to be trapped in something of an identity crisis as the game dabbles between current gen and last gen. The game tries to deliver a mixture of ‘old-school’ run and gun in a modern first perso... more.

Dead Island’s take on the zombie apocalypse scenario is a mixture of influences from various zombie related media while bringing the chaos to a new environment. Set in a holiday resorted that resembles everyone’s idea of paradise, Dead Isl... more.

  • Toy Soldiers Cold War Review (Xbox 360) 1 CommentsPosted by on August 24, 2011 under Xbox 360
Oozing of nostalgia Toy Soldiers Cold War builds upon the foundations laid by its predecessor. While the setting may of jumped from the trenches of World War 1 to the Cold War (with the slight change that the Cold War is far from cold) the gameplay hasn’t changed a bit bar some minor additions. Playing much like a tower defence game Toy Soldiers combined fast paced action with more player intera... more.
