Homophobes have been put on notice today as Microsoft changes it's policy regarding sexual orientation on it's XBL service. Previously letting anybody know you were part of the LGBT community would've gotten you the boot. Even the poor fellow who's name was Gaylord couldn't put his surname as his gamertag. The policy now states: "You may use the following terms to express your relationship ... more. -

One would think that if you played the first Mass Effect, you'd know exactly what to expect in the second one. However you'd be wrong. Before I delve into the world that is Mass Effect, I would firstly like to point of the problems I have faced trying to review this tit... more. -
Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC Is No Longer Available

An odd thing happened to me this week. I sat down to play Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, granted I enjoyed it. I figured I would check to see if there was some DLC for it, but the game was missing from the XBL marketplace. Not too odd since it's a newer game, but I noticed the DLC for the first Ultimate Alliance were also missing. After doing some Internet research, I found that both games... more. -

Remember when the XBL Avatars made their appearance last year and Microsoft released non-licensed clothing, for free? Well you may want to keep that story for the grand-kids. Yesterday Microsoft released a new collection of holiday avatar clothing and as you may have guessed, their Holiday themed - though MS have flatly rejecting the holiday spirit of giving, have added price tags next to them. ... more. -

The US Airforce is purchasing 2,200 Sony PS3's. They are not being deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan to boost troop morale, but to create a true high-end 'super-computer'. In testimony to the US Congress, the US Army has called video games the most effective recruiting tool around. In particular it's game America's Army. It seems Microsoft have brought down the ban-hammer quite hard this time around, with about 600,000 consoles recieving a lock from the online service. In perspective, there are about 20 million users - so that's about 3% of the Xbox Live community culled. How did they get banned? They modified their 360's to play pirated games. Though console will still play games offline, they will just no l... more. -

It might be a knock-on effect from the 5 million copies of Modern Warfare 2 that were shipped - but Thursday, 2 Million players signed into Xbox Live at once. Aside from being a record, that's a lot of traffic for one network to take.
