Call of Juarez: Gunslinger – Old Setting, New Style
Call of Juarez: The Cartel was a flop, in every meaning of the word. It departed from the franchises wild west roots, in favor of a modern setting. The story was terrible, the gameplay generic, and the overall product was a buggy mess. The Cartel had killed any momentum the Call of Juarez franchise may of had. Things are looking up however, Call of Juarez is back in all of its wild west glory.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is the spiritual successor to Bound in Blood. All the traits of the wild west will be showcased in a new stylized fashion. The core gameplay will be notably faster than previous Call of Juarez games. Fast paced, arcade like, first person shooting action will form the core of the gameplay. A scoring system will also be present at the heart of the game, furthering adding to that arcade vibe.
Gunslinger will feature a new character development system, this will allow players to create their own play style. The ability to choose perks and skills allows for the player to experiment with their builds. These customization options will add a sense of the depth to the overall game. Online leader boards will also be featured. For those wanting to climb their way to the top, learning the ins and outs of each level will be essential.
An assortment of classic wild west weapons will be on offer, along with some more fancy skills. The concentration system will make a return along with a new combo system and the ability to dodge bullets.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will be the first game in the franchise that will be download only. No solid release date has been given other than Q1 2013.
