The Best Games of Zavvi Mega Monday (14/01/2013)

This weeks Zavvi Mega Monday sale contains the familiar titles that featured in last weeks sales. A few additions have been added, mostly in the shape of Kinect games. The following are three recommendations worth playing.

Syndicate (PS3 £8.98)

The reboot of the classic franchise was met with poor sales, but the game was a genuine quality shooter. The art style and universe is a nice change of setting in comparison to most of the modern day first person shooters. The campaign offers a decent action driven experience littered with boss bottles and some nifty set pieces. Syndicate also offers a co-op campaign with numerous missions and customization options. It may of not been the greatest game released last year, but Syndicate has plenty to offer.

Binary Domain (Xbox360 £9.89)

One of 2012′s most over looked games, Binary Domain has a surprisingly good story. The plot centres around the battle between humanity and robots in war torn Tokyo. Throughout the game the story springs surprising plot twists that add a whole new dimension to the plot. The game play wasn’t anything ground breaking but was never the less smooth and solid. The set pieces sprinkled across the single player campaign make for some fantastic spectacles. For under £10, you cant go wrong.

Beyond Good & Evil, Outland And From Dust Triple Pack (Xbox 360 £9.89)

Two quality games attached with a nice distraction. From Dust may not be all that great but the ‘God’ game does provides some fun in places. Manipulating the terrain to protect villagers from lava, tsunamis and bush fires does provide some enjoyment. The real stars of this triple pack are Outland and Beyond Good And Evil. Outland is a fantastic platformer that contains a number of nice little touches resulting in a smooth and enjoyable experience. Beyond Good & Evil (HD) breathes new life into a cult classic. The action and platforming in both games is tight, with the latter providing a decent story to play through. Three games of £9.98 is hard to pass up.
