Dark Souls II Announced, trailer reveal at the VGAs
Publisher Namco Bandai announced this week the continuation of FromSoftware’s unrelenting Souls Franchise with a third game titled Dark Souls II. Built on the same foundation as the previous two games Dark Souls II looks to set players on a journey with a new character in a new land but still wants to destroy your very core with its solid and unforgiving game play mechanics that will infuriate you throughout the time you spend with the game.
Although truly appealing to a very niche audience because of its extreme challenge the Souls franchsie has carved out a nice corner of the market with its last two releases and the third one looks to captilize on the exact same strategy that will punish players who take the game for granted but will offer sweet rewards once players master their play style. Being one of the few games with the strength to try such things it’s easy to see why the Souls franchise has become popular as players flock to the games looking for a challenge that would scare most straight off of the game.
Dark Souls II currently has no release date but will appear on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Below is the launch trailer first revealed at this years VGAs; while it shows nothing to do with the game itself it is extremely grand and cinematic and shows a little of the direction the game may be taking.
