Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gets release date, special edition teased
Konami today confirmed a released date for upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and also teased the special edition that will accompany the regular version on shelves in 2013.
MGR: Revengeance looks to revitalize the Metal Gear series and is touted as a pure action game combined with epic storytelling. The game is the second in the series to star someone other than Solid Snake as Raiden once again takes the fight to the enemy. Teased briefly in Metal Gear Solid 4 with what is sure to be one of my favourite cutscenes of all time, Raiden is now a half-cyborg Ninja who runs into battle with a high-frequency katana blade. Raiden wasn’t the most popular character in the series but his background as a child soldier raised by war made for a great character I can’t wait to see fleshed out in his own title.
The Special Edition of Revengeance will include a soundtrack, steelbook and a high-frequency katana lamp.
Developed by Kojima Productions and PlatinumGames Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be hitting Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on February 19th 2013.
