Halo 4 trailer shows Master Chief’s Origin
Halo 4 released a new trailer today that is perhaps most notable for its director, David Fincher, whose recent works include The Social Network, Fight Club and Se7en as well as a whole host of other films through the 90s and 2000s. Fincher’s Halo Trailer sees a young man kidnapped from his bedroom in the middle of the night then trained and honed through medical breakthroughs to ultimately become humanity’s saviour, Master Chief. The trailer is frenetic and absurdly captivating in all the best ways but still ducks away from showing you what the final game is going to look like. While trailers like this may look good on a big screen and on TV, they bare little use to people who actually want to judge a game by what it will look like upon release.
Either way, the trailer is two minutes of fun and kind of neatly shows off entirely how John became involved in the Spartan project (Also covered in the book The Fall of Reach, should you wish to know a little more) and teases that something new is coming, something ancient that has been awakened. Excited for Halo or not the trailer is worth watching just for its stylized nature and frantic shot changes.
Halo 4 is due for release on the 6th of November in North America.
