Five Reasons Why WWE 13 Will Be Worth Buying
Wrestling games have a bit of a bad name these days. With accusations of the games never really changing or adding anything, a lot of people have become a little jaded. WWE 13 looks set to try and lure the jaded players back, and here’s five reason why it’s going to be worth buying.
1) Attitude Era Story Mode:
With the hit and miss ‘Road To Wrestlemaina’ being cut from WWE 13, the stage is set for the ‘Attitude Era Story Mode’. Gone are the days of selecting one current WWE superstar and taking them through a ‘all new’ story mode. Instead WWE 13 gives the players the opportunity to play through arguably the best time period of the WWE.
Players will play through various events in the attitude era time line in full. The events of the Monday Night Wars will be charted in detail through this new game mode. The action (much like it was back then) will take place in and outside of the ring. Opening a can of whoop-ass and stunnering the McMahons is just one of many appealing events to play through.
2) Predator 2:0
The first appearance of the Predator engine was met with praise for many reasons. The engine provided faster, smoother gameplay along with overall better presentation. It was truly the closest we have been to the likeness of a WWE broadcast.
Predator 2:0 is taking things to the next level. The dynamic camera angle has been improved upon, as too have the character models. The improved engine has also affected combat, making it more refined. The engine changes how the crowd reacts to the actions in the ring. One of the issues of WWE 12 was that the crowd sometimes felt dead. WWE 13 looks to remedy that by breathing life into the crowd and their reactions. The crowd will react to a number of different moves, finisher or not, and will feel genuinely more intense.
3) Super Heavy Weights Have Their Own Models
While this may sound like a odd, it does have relevance. If anyone who has played WWE 12 / Smackdown Vs Raw, they will be able to notice something odd. The super heavy weights react exactly the same way to attacks and the environments as everyone else on the roster. WWE 13 changes this by making the skeletons bulkier and more weighty. When a Super heavy weight hits the canvas you’ll see and hear the difference. It’s a small but effective addition, and most importantly a improvement.
With a number of super heavy weights in the WWE 13 roster, this change is more than timely. The improvements with the predator engine will compliment the addition of super heavy weight skeletons. The results should add that little bit of extra realism to the matches.
4) The Roster
WWE 13 boasts one of the best rosters in recent memory. While there is a lack of ‘classic’ stars (or Legends, however you wish to label them) the choice is still ranged. A number of the expected current roster are all present and account for, as well as a few surprises. The inclusions of such ‘superstars’ as Jinder Mahal, Hunico and the released Divas, The Bella Twins do raise eye brows. However these odd inclusions are passable when the collection of attitude stars is this good. The original DX are all there, the many faces of Mick Foley are present, the Texas rattle snake is ready and waiting. And errr…The Great Khali (is there even a single Khali fan out there?).
It’s a rich roster that covers the high points of WWE to the new rising stars such as Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes. Fans of new and old will most likely find one of their favorites, and for that reason alone WWE 13 has the best roster yet. Bar Khali, seriously how has he not been released yet.
5) CM Punk Is On The Cover.
The title says it all really.

Milk Foley ???
You forgot to mention the fact that certain wrestlers signature moves are pay only.
Also, I have seen many previews for this game, and it looks like trash. It looks as if it mas major collision detection issues, as well as skipping frames in animation. The crowd seems virtually non-exsistant, and the character models look a bit worse than on previous versions of the game.
Going to be honest… i have no idea what you mean in the first line. On the other points, I’ve seen plenty of preview videos too and have not really seen the problems you mentioned. Though i do welcome you to post links to videos showing them. Thanks for the comment!
