Crysis 3 Reveal May Have Been Leaked by EA
Last month Crytek made the announcement that they were working on a new AAA title for both consoles and PC, and that they would be set to reveal it this April. There’s no doubt that a few of us thought it would be the announcement of a sequel to the successful 2010 hit Crysis 2 (and 2007 forerunner), and a posting on EA’s Origin service may have let the cat out of the bag.
The image (shown below) depicts a nano-suit soldier carrying what appears to be a tech-bow, similar to the famed weapon from Turok. I don’t know about you, but it seems like a concept
that’s well suited the whole idea of stealth, that and I’m a sucker for John Rambo.
The product listing on Origin stated that the “Crysis® 3 Limited Edition” would be available as a “Direct Download” at the price of “$49.99.”
Neither EA, nor Crytek, have made an official statement as regards a sequel, and at time of writing there’s been no comment on the “leak.”
I thoroughly enjoyed Crysis 2, even if it abandoned the very open approach of the original, and I hope that this is more than just a simple clerical error and the prelude to a very exciting announcement.
