Hello there,

Doesn’t feel long since we last chatted

Jeb released Minecraft Snapshot 12w06a today.

Here’s the development snapshot of week 6, 2012! List of changes:

Many minor bug fixes and tweaks
Doors have been changed to properly detect if they are open or closed. Double doors in existing maps will need to be updated
Villagers will move indoors during night and rain, and socialize with each other
Zombies will break down wooden doors on hard difficulty
Added cat sounds
Better movement for mobs in water
Added rare mob item drops

Jeb has reported one bug so far;

jeb_: Btw in the snapshot zombies tend to break down iron doors also. That’s a bug and will be fixed!

In Other News…

Jeb has been working on increasing the default world height;

jeb_: Default world height is likely to be increased in the future

Notch is happy with him

Jeb has been working on the new world format (Whatever that means..)

jeb_: I got the Squid Server world (treesquid.tumblr.com) to test the new world format, is working well:

jeb_: Biome data will be saved with the chunks in the new world format. Tool makers can probably use this to restore old maps.

Pocket Edition Updates

The guys have been chatting about Mincraft Pocket edition again this week.

kappische: The Pocket Edition is in the works. Not yet uploaded anywhere
kappische: MC Pocket Edition will be delayed…bugs bugs bugs

kappische: This is the inventory. Lazy 8 means infinity resrources. This will be changed when you can craft stuff

kappische: More MC-PE (sorry for the spamming): Upload maybe tomorrow. If the bugs are fixed so to say.
notch: Release date for the PE update is “eventually”. Aron stayed up all night working on it. We’d prefer it if he slept, but he’s a bit nuts.

Hey guys, Im really sorry for the delay. I know that a lot of people have been waiting for the new update for Minecraft – Pocket Edition and the goal was to submit to the stores during Wednesday but we found some game breaking bugs. Aron is on all of the stuff that is needed to be fixed and the goal is to submit today.
As many of you probably know submitting stuff to the Android Market goes faster than submitting to the iOS AppStore and there isn’t much we can do about it.

Some more info has come to lite this evening;

carlmanneh: Update from Aron: get your phones and tablets ready. There will be some new Minecraft – Pocket Edition action tonight!
carlmanneh: The update will be available on Android market first, because we will have to wait for Apple to approve it in the App store

Good news then Should be interesting.. I cannot remember exactly what they are adding.. I have a feeling it may be survival mode? Please correct me below if you know more.
