Gearbox’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has long had film fans and gamer in a sweat since the title was announced.

For a long period of time small amount of details emerged from time to time along with screen shots, but after awhile rumours of the game being canned began to circlet.

However it seems the lack of details on Aliens: Colonial Marines was due to other commitments in the shape of Borderlands.

With Borderlands over and done with (apart from the DLC of course) it has allowed Gearbox to focus on Aliens: Colonial Marines, talking to MVC Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford shed some light on the situation “We have an Aliens game with Sega and 20th Century Fox which we’re really excited about,” he also mentioned on how much a influence the Aliens films have had on his work “It’s the thing I’ve been stealing from all my career. Now I’m really working on it, but we’ve been quiet about that so far.”

With the recent success of Rebellions Aliens vs. Predator Sega are hungry to cash in on the new found interest on the Aliens and Predator world.

With the Marines being a firm fan favourite and only taking a small part in the recent AvP game perhaps Aliens: Colonial Marines can cash in on something of a untapped market
