More Kids Injured Playing Video Games Than Falling Out of Trees

A report by The Sun newspaper has revealed that more children are being admitted to casualty for badly strained thumbs than tree-climbing related injuries.

It seems RSIs (Repetitive Strain Injuries) are up a whopping 60% since 2002 and it seems like excessive time spent on games is to blame. Alongside the new findings, injuries from other outdoor activities like Rollerskating and Skateboarding are in fact down by 57% since 2002.

Apparently hit games like Call of Duty, which are largely focused on use of moving the thumbs in various patterns due to the control system is to blame. It unfortunately seems that we need to make video games less addictive and get kids climbing trees again…
