As part of its 2010 Consumer Electronics Show keynote, Microsoft has announced a tentative release window for its motion sensor technology Project Natal. The studio confirmed that the peripheral will arrive sometime during this year’s holiday season – so expect a release around the Christmas holiday.
“Scheduled to be available in holiday season 2010, Project Natal is only the most recent example of Microsoft’s work creating natural user interfaces,” read a press release issued at the event.
Microsoft research exec Andrew Fitzgibbon added at the keynote: “What Natal does, is it evaluates effectively trillions of body configurations every frame. We’ve made it do that 30 times a second.”
