It’s only a matter of time before a game of this caliber pushes itself that one step further. Microsoft announced last night at their 2010 Consumer Electronics Show keynote, that the first content pack – coming spring – will be available exclusively first on Xbox LIVE.

The news was broadcasted across the Internet by Major “Larry” Nelson via twitter: “This Spring, the first Modern Warfare 2 content packs will be available exclusively first on Xbox LIVE.”

While details are scarce at the minute, I for one would enjoy some more spec-op missions. Possibly some more experimental ones that are designed to test the player in ways the campaign could not, without losing its realism.

New multiplayer maps, Spec-Ops, Unlockables – whatever the content, I will be keeping a close eye on this as Spring approaches.
