Left 4 Dead 2 DLC Coming Early 2010

Valve announced today that the opening downloadable pack for Left 4 Dead 2, entitled “The Passing” is in development and is targeted for release in early ‘Spring 2010′ for the PC and Xbox 360.

“The Passing” takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, where will see the sequel’s survivors meeting up with the original game’s (L4D1) cast. No specifics have been made as of yet to determine how the narrative will unfold.

In addition to the new co-operative campaign where we meet the original cast, “The Passing” will include new arenas for Survival, Versus and Scavenge mode and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode game-type. The Passing will also include a new “uncommon common” zombie class, melee weapon, and firearm.

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing is targeted for release in early spring for the PC and Xbox 360. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect to know more about that closer to launch.
