Final Fantasy XIII Given European/North American Release Date
Rejoice, fellow Final Fantasy fans, as Final Fantasy XIII has been given an OFFICIAL European/North American release date: 9 March 2010. Now let us hope that it isn’t delayed.
Having followed the Final Fantasy series pretty much my entire life, I really cannot wait for this game. I don’t usually look out for graphics in a role-playing game, but it really does look beautiful, and I’m sure it will completely blow me away (figuratively speaking, of course). I’m also sure that I am not alone in still being completely fucking clueless as to how the new battle system works, and maybe Square Enix should elaborate on that a bit more. Digressions aside: the game is out next year. I am very excited and I cannot wait etc. As long as it doesn’t turn out to be like FFXII (or FFXI, for that matter), my allegiance to Square Enix will be kept intact.
EDIT: I recently found out that Nobuo Uematsu, composer for all previous FF games, has nothing to do with FFXIII’s score, making this the first FF game without any Uematsu work. Masashi Hamauzu, best known as co-composer for Final Fantasy X (with Uematsu and Junya Nakano), is composer this time around, and that really does help put me at ease.
