DSi LL/XL Headed For Europe and America 2010

As many of you will already know, Nintendo recently announced that they will be releasing yet another incarnation of their cashcow handheld device, the Nintendo DS, renaming it the DSi LL. It will be available exclusively in Japan for the remainder of 2009 (launching the 21st of November, to be precise) but fear not, as it will be released to European and American territories during the first quarter of 2010.

There is no concrete release date as-of-yet and all we really know is that it will be the exact same product that is being released to the Japanese market although, for some reason, Nintendo found it necessary to rename it the DSi XL for European and American territories (my theory is that they are playing on the European and American desire/need for everything to be extra large).

I know why it's changed! LL is the clothing sizing equivalent of XL in Japan. A DSi XL would mean as much to the Japanese market as DSi LL would mean to US/ EU territories.
